The 2024 Markow Scholarship and Grant program winners have been selected!

Dan Cole, UW graduate student, for his proposal A Flora of the Bighorn Mountains, Sheridan, Big Horn, Johnson, and Washakie counties, Wyoming.

Sierra Jaeger, UW graduate student, for her proposal Population demography of the last populations of the Yellowstone sand verbena.

The Wyoming Native Plant Society was established in 1981 for the purpose of encouraging appreciation and knowledge of the native flora of Wyoming. Towards this end, the Society has promoted research on native plants and habitats in Wyoming through its annual scholarship program. One to three scholarships in amounts of up to $1000 are awarded each year to undergraduate, or graduate students conducting research in Wyoming. Projects may address any aspect of botany, including taxonomy, floristics, ecology, plant geography, range science, physiology, or mycology. View past recipients here.
