Rocky Mountain Herbarium- Curatorial Nights
In partnership with one of our current floristics students in the Botany Department, Marguerite Trost, the Rocky Mountain Herbarium is hosting a series of Curatorial Nights in the next month. We’d like to extend an invitation to you to participate.
Our focus will be learning the process of “mounting” plant specimens, which involves gluing dried and pressed plant material with associated label data to archival herbarium paper. This is the “artsy” side of preparing scientific specimens for archival storage. Come learn the process and have fun with other people who love plants!
There are currently 3 evening events scheduled, each from 7:00pm to 9:00pm in room 311 of the Aven Nelson building on campus at the University of Wyoming in Laramie, on the following dates:
-Tuesday, February 24
-Tuesday, March 10
-Tuesday, March 24
Space is limited to 8 participants each night, so we have a sign up sheet for each evening:

Depending on interest and availability, we may schedule more Curatorial Nights later this spring. If you would like to learn the mounting process, but are unable to attend an evening session, you can e-mail Interim Curator separately at sbeaver5@uwyo.edu and she can schedule a time to meet with you.
