Fungi! with fungiphile leader Benj Sinclair.

The gathering will start with a quick review from Teton Fungiphile members of recent finds and upcoming forays this spring & summer. Then for new and experienced fungiphiles, Benj will explain the 3 lifestyles of fungi and why fungi are critical to forest health. For those who like to consume mushrooms, he will review foraging materials, methods & etiquette; guidelines for safe consumption; the most common local edibles; the differences of morels from similar toxic species; and local toxics to avoid. He will review field guides & online resources and what mushrooms are in the news. Benj has 15 recipes including local mushrooms and Mary Boeh has some great mushroom photos. This evening will be full of fungi and fun!
